Downstream Panic! is a bright puzzle game combining LocoRoco and Worms’ aspects. All of the fish have been dragged out of the waters by a gigantic hurricane! The player must return them securely. The levels begin at the top of the area, where the fish is encased in a glob of water. They must safely reach the ocean at the bottom of the screen with the player’s help. The fish may be directed through platforms, past hungry sharks, piranhas, and many other dangers, using a variety of innovative gadgets such as fans, onions, rockets, and cloud factories. The devices can also be used to direct the flow of water and the movement of the fish. Plants will stop the flow while blowing flowers will open bridges. The area is frequently examined utilizing the free camera perspective to find all the hazards at the start of the level. Certain fish can be sacrificed, but they must reach the ocean in sufficient numbers. The Free Play and Survival modes are eventually unlocked by playing the usual way. In Free Play, the player can use the money earned from regular games to purchase tools for the stages. All survival levels are replayed in order, but lost fish are not restored to the next level.
