Bakumatsu Rock is a Japanese video game developed by Marvelous AQL and distributed by Konami. The game’s name translates to “Rock.” It was translated into a manga series called Bakumatsu Rock – wailing soul – that debuted on March 28, 2014. It was converted into an anime television series called Samurai Jam – Bakumatsu Rock – that aired in Japan from July 2, 2014 to September 17, 2014. Crunchyroll provided a streaming service for the anime. On September 25, 2014, a different video game called Bakumatsu Rock: Ultra Soul was available. The novel’s events occur during the Bakumatsu era, which occurred in Japan in the middle of the 19th century and marked the end of the reign of the shoguns. Heaven’s Songs is a form of brainwashing used by the Tokugawa shogunate to subdue the country and its people. The songs were performed by the greatest idols in Shinsengumi. In this Japan, composing or performing pieces that are not included in Heaven’s Songs can result in the death penalty. Rise, Ryma Sakamoto, and the other rockers use rock ‘n’ roll to improve the world by fighting for freedom and justice.
