Black Rock Shooter: The Game

Aliens invaded Earth in the year 2032. Humanity rallies and fights valiantly, but they are no match for the invading force, and their numbers dwindle as the fighting continues. After years of war, humanity is on the verge of extinction when Black Rock Shooter, a young girl who is also the most powerful biological weapon ever created, appears. Will she be able to repel the alien invasion and save the Earth by collaborating with the last survivors of the human race? Black Rock Shooter is an action-RPG based on the same-named anime. In many ways, it is a typical Japanese-style RPG. The player guides the titular Black Rock Shooter through the battle-ravaged landscape, and enemies will approach her when they notice her. If they get close enough, the game will enter battle mode, which is more akin to a rail shooter than a traditional turn-based battle system. Enemies will attack in real-time during the battle. The player uses a cursor to aim Black Rock’s rock cannon and can freely shoot, block, dodge, and use various items and special skills, but she cannot move freely around the battlefield. Specific actions raise a heat gauge, which can only be reduced if she rests. If the indicator becomes too high, she cannot attack quickly. The game is divided into stages with missions and optional objectives. When these missions are completed, the scene comes to an end. Optional goals in each location will grant the player new abilities and unlockable bonuses such as weapons, costumes, and concept art. Completed scenes can be revisited to achieve additional objectives.
