Burnout Dominator is a PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable installment in the Burnout series. The game’s main focus is the return of a Burnouts feature – draining a full boost meter without stopping, which was last seen in Burnout 2: Point of Impact. With the return of the Burnouts feature, four new game modes were added, including Maniac Mode (in which players must drive dangerously to earn the highest scores by earning drifts, air, oncoming, and near misses). In this mode, chaining burnouts increases the score multiplier), Drift Challenge (in this mode, the player must drift as many feet as possible). Chaining Burnouts raises the score multiplier here as well), Near Miss Challenge (similar to Drift Challenge, but the player must score near miss bonuses), Burnout Challenge (also the same as Drift Challenge, but focusing on obtaining Burnouts score). However, some options have been removed from the game; for example, Burnout Dominator lacks Crash Mode, Traffic Checking Mode, and Online Multiplayer. On the other hand, the PSP version includes Burnout HQ, where you can upload your score and download new tracks. The game features 12 distinct tracks set in 8 distinct real-world locations. Each track has both forward and reverse directions.
