DJ Max Portable

A port of the PC game DJ MAX with online capabilities, DJ MAX Portable, is available for the PlayStation Portable. The gameplay is modeled after Konami’s Beatmania series, in which the player is confronted with a sheet of notes sliding down the screen. As the player responds to the falling messages by pressing the appropriate key at the proper time, they are, in effect, playing along with the music and triggering essential elements of the song. In contrast to the PC version of DJ Max, which emphasizes competitive online multiplayer, the DJ Max Portable experience can only be had by one person at a time. It includes a variety of musical genres ranging from techno and trance to dance and even some R&B music among its fifty tracks. The option to select from several different difficulty levels, indicated by the number of buttons needed (for example, 4key, 6key, and 8key) to play the song, further increases the amount of time that may be spent playing the game.
