The Legend of Heroes: Zero no Kiseki, also known as “Trails of Zero” ( Eiyu Densetsu Sero no Kiseki), is the direct sequel to The Legend of Heroes: Sora no Kiseki. The third installment follows the ‘s events previous game’s events and occurs a few months later. The events of the game appear in Crossbell City and the surrounding areas. Crossbell City is a city in which both light and darkness coexist. The events of Sora no Kiseki, Liberl Kingdom, are irrelevant to the story that takes place in Crossbell City, located in a region to the north of the Erebonian Empire. The architecture, roads, and attire of most non-playable characters (NPCs) are more in line with those of the 1960s, but China Town-style architecture may be seen in specific areas of the map. In addition, there are components not present in the Sora no Kiseki games, such as the Police Department, automobiles, and a strip club. There will be no airplanes like in the previous Sora no Kiseki games; instead, the mobility system will involve riding trains or buses.
