greenTech+ is a for-profit expansion to the freeware game greenTech. The player, as in the original game, directs a hurricane to direct filthy clouds into cleansing factories, creating cleaner air and preventing global warming. Polluted clouds are progressively released and pulled towards the cyclone, which can travel freely on the screen. The clouds must be guided into the factories by shifting the storm and keeping track of any pollution. Using the mechanics of Tower Defense games, corruption must be directed away from high pressure zones. These zones absorb and spread pollution immediately, contributing 10% to global warming, and similarly, polluting the hurricane results in a 20% increase. When you achieve 100%, the Earth is destroyed, and the game is done. The game has 30 levels that are unlocked in six tiers, as well as a tutorial. Collecting flawless evident ribbons; clearing stages with a 0% percentage opens new stories. All levels are played oon single, non-scrolling screens with a retro aesthetic. At higher levels, numerous pollutants present at once and must frequently be steered down narrow pathways. Two more keys allow the player to accelerate or decelerate the pollution, but this does not affect the overall game length. Players unlock monitors that change the aesthetic of the game after finishing levels. Anaglyph 3D is also supported in the game. Compared to the first game’s principles, the storm is no longer bound to a grid and may be moved around freely faster than the original game’s mouse-based controls.
