Hellboy: The Science of Evil is the sequel to Mike Mignola’s popular comic book character Hellboy (now also featured in films and an animated series). Hellboy travels through six different settings as he hunts down the evil Von Klempt in the game’s unique story. Hellboy battles familiar foes such as demons and Nazi creations. The game features brawler-style action with some puzzle and story elements thrown in for good measure. Hellboy has several abilities in The Science of Evil that distinguish him from the typical brawler character, including picking up and wielding many environmental objects, such as barrels and debris from structures knocked down with his Right Hand of Doom. He can also grapple enemies and use them as projectiles to finish them off one-on-one. Collaborate with a friend to complete six co-op multiplayer levels via ad-hoc WiFi. These levels are based on the single-player campaign but have been shortened and reworked to provide a collection of two-player puzzles. Because scores are tracked individually, it is unnecessary to be completely cooperative. Hellboy: The Science of Evil was also released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3; the PSP version is not a port. The story and characters are similar, but the PSP has a unique combat system, different AI, and a new-level layout more appropriate for the handheld environment.
