Sumo Digital, a firm created by former Infogrames/ Gremlin Interactive personnel and which released previous PSP games such as Toca Race Driver, Outrun, and Driver 76 (which I genuinely enjoyed playing when I owned a PSP myself), developed sle of Minno for the Playstation Portable in 2006. There is little information on Isle of Minno. However, an Assembler Games Forum user discovered a prototype, and the game looks and sounds like a children’s game. I couldn’t find why Sumo Digital discontinued the game; the game is barely mentioned elsewhere. The game also does not appear on Sumo Digital’s old cached web pages. Sony and Sumo Digital manufactured some actual pre-production Isle of Minno UMDs in May 2006, none of which were meant for resale. Still, a leaked ISO is now widely available online. Some of the original UMD versions were sold on eBay for approximately $100. The leaked prototype is a fully playable demo with multiplayer and game-sharing options. The game begins with a short cinematic depicting a boy who washes up on an island after wandering in the sea alongside some shipwrecks. After a short stroll on the beach, he enters a cave and discovers a little settlement concealed in a valley at the end, possibly called Leafy Cove. After a brief briefing from an elder, you are put on your first errand to obtain some nice clothing. The town is fully explorable; it’s a reasonable size with plenty of locations to see, and now and then, you’ll come across individuals with whom you can engage and accept tasks. After completing a mission, you are either welcomed to the person’s home or given a little prize for your services. The overall gameplay consists primarily of completing minor mini-games such as collecting feathers, fruit, or other items, mowing lawns, throwing things out threes, and some music memory games. However, the game’s or missions’ full story remains a mystery.
