Avatar: The Game for PSP and Wii by James Cameron shares the same setting as the blockbuster film but tells an entirely different story. A nameless Na’vi warrior, the sole survivor of a village destroyed by the RDA (humans), embarks on a journey to avenge his people’s deaths. Along the way, he will hone his warrior abilities, tame a few exotic creatures, and find another tribe willing to accept him as a brother. This is a third-person action game with a focus on stealth. The warrior has two weapons: a bow and a staff, but he can’t do much in open combat against multiple soldiers or robots, so he must hide behind objects or in the grass and attack stealthily. The warrior gathers ‘Eywa spirits’ to improve his weapons and the “way of the hunter,” a skill that allows him to remain undetected for extended periods or increase attack strength. There are also some flying missions. Because the scrolling is automatic, the warrior only needs to move around the screen, avoiding bombs or projectiles and shooting down enemies.
