Lord of Arcana is an action game in which the player (as a customizable character) is transported to the world of Horodyn and must obtain the Arcana power. To do so, he must hone his skills by completing quests from the slayers guild in the village of Porto Carillo. Quests entail defeating specific enemies, gathering materials, and so on. The nearby Arayd Temple’s Arcana Stones will awaken as the player gains strength, allowing the Master Guardians to be challenged and their power claimed. The quests occur in predetermined locations such as forests, caves, and deserts. Various materials can be obtained (either from the field, after battles, or by destroying Monster Parts) and used to craft equipment in the village after defeating monsters in these quests. Aside from usable items like potions and charms, you can equip various weapons, armor, orbs, and cards. Weapons: There are five types of weapons, each with its own set of strengths and weaknesses. Changing weapons will come in handy depending on the player’s opponent. Armors include armor, shield, and headgear. They can provide excellent protection and occasionally have slots for orbs. Orbs: They have a wide range of abilities. Some can boost elemental attacks or defenses, while others allow for faster movement or reveal monster weaknesses—cards: Required to perform magic. Regular spells and the more powerful Ultimate Magics, which summon the Arcana Guardians to perform incredible feats, are available. Multiple players can also use the Guild to join and quest together using the PSP’s ad hoc mode. The public quests are those the host player can access during regular gameplay.
