Many of the previous game’s elements are still present in the gameplay. During levels, one of the new features is the ability to fight alongside three other allies. Players can give various scrolls to their characters to boost their health, chakra, and attack power. They can also equip multiple ninja tools and techniques for the characters. Long-lasting effects, such as Lee’s Eight Gates and Karin’s Mind’s Eye of the Kagura, are among the methods. Having three allies with you allows you to perform “team attacks,” which include the four standing in a square formation and knocking the enemy around before each performing one of their techniques, resulting in an explosion. The player can summon any of the three allied characters to perform a technique on their opponent, earning Kizuna Points. The more Kizuna Points you have when you complete a mission, the higher your rank. Kizuna Points can also be used to revive fallen allies, and if a player falls, a partner will immediately restore them if enough Kizuna Points are available. Kizuna Points can also be obtained by participating in team attacks. There are numerous challenges in the game. Battles with false-tailed beasts are the main challenges. The Three-Tails, Two-Tails, and Nine-Tails are the three that appear. Despite being much smaller than the real thing, they have the same abilities and some unnamed, game-only attacks. The most difficult challenge is fighting the Three-Headed Guardian Beast, a massive, lion-like monster with the power of an absolute tailed beast. The graphics in this game have greatly improved over previous games.
