Patapon

The Patapon tribe was once a terrifying force to be reckoned with, led by their god, Almighty. As they sought the fabled Earthend, no foe was too formidable, and no treasure was out of reach. These days, however, are long gone, and the Patapons are now a mere shadow of their former selves. Take on the role of Almighty and bring the Patapons back to their former glory! Patapon crosses a rhythm game like PaRappa the Rapper and a strategy game with unit management like Advance Wars. Players guide the Patapons’ god, ‘Almighty,’ in their search for Earthend. This is accomplished by pressing the Circle, X, Square, and Triangle buttons, each corresponding to a different type of drum beat. The Patapons will repeat the moment and then perform the action, such as advancing, retreating, or attacking, by pressing different sets of four seconds. If the player keeps performing rhythms without failing, they will enter the ‘Fever’ Mode, making the Patapons perform their actions stronger and faster. Players can create new Patapon units at the Tree of Life by collecting items such as meat and wood and spending Ka-ching (the game’s currency). These units can then be equipped with better armor, shields, and weapons before the player enters a stage, allowing them to fight more effectively against their opponents.
