PES 2012 is a video game focused primarily on improving upon the previous version, released in 2011. Despite these improvements, the game retains its predecessor’s same gameplay and modes. The UEFA Champions League and the Copa Santander Libertadores have been included in the game thanks to an exclusive license from UEFA and CONMEBOL. The game can be played in both Europe and South America. In addition, it comes with official league licenses from the countries of Spain, Italy, France, and the Netherlands. Notably, the English and German leagues are not represented here, except Manchester United and Bayern Munich. Thirty-three teams are not affiliated with any company, such as CSKA Moscow, Boca Juniors, River Plate, or Oporto. A player has the option of selecting from sixty different national teams to compete in either friendly matches or custom tournaments. PES 2012 features lightning-fast arcade gameplay that can be experienced in various game modes, including Master League, Become a Legend, and traditional contests. The game’s overall flow has been improved, and goalkeepers are now more effective in their roles. Defense lines have also been enhanced, with artificially intelligent players now moving and behaving more realistically and making more intelligent movements.
