Space Invaders Extreme

To mark the occasion of their 30th anniversary, the pixelated aliens have returned. Space Invaders Extreme takes the gameplay of the 1978 classic and reinvents it, adding power-up blasters, boss aliens, and an electronic soundtrack that plays in sync with the onscreen action. Taking a page from previous recent modifications to arcade classics, Space Invaders Extreme takes the gameplay of the 1978 classic and reinvents it. The gameplay fundamentals have not changed: The players control a ground-based cannon and direct it to either the left or the right to destroy an approaching fleet of invaders before they reach the ground. The game’s primary purpose is to accumulate as many points as possible before your number of lives is depleted. New features are included in Space Invaders Extreme. These include invading fleets that deviate from their typical pattern of moving from left to right, boss aliens that require many hits to destroy, and power-ups that strengthen the cannon and make it possible for the player to eliminate multiple invaders at once while also racking up combos. Wi-Fi play is also an option, enabling players to either work together cooperatively or compete against one another. Additionally, an online ranking system is included in the Nintendo DS version of the game.
