The Gens Suikoden Card Stories (Japanese:?) spin-off Konami developed the title of the Suikoden franchise. They featured a digital game for the Game Boy Advance and a physical collecting card game. Both were made available in Japan in the autumn of 2001, but neither one has been translated into any other languages. Card Stories places a greater emphasis on the card battles themselves and less on the overall storyline, in contrast to other parts of the Suikoden franchise, in which the narrative is a significant part of the gameplay. Most of the characters shown on the trading cards are from the role-playing video game series Suikoden by Konami, specifically Suikoden I and Suikoden II. On a few cards, you’ll also see characters who would eventually appear in Suikoden III. The plot of Suikoden II is retold as a game for the Game Boy Advance. However, certain events and their outcomes have been altered.
