The Codemasters series of Brian Lara cricket games were adapted for the first time onto the PSP with the release of Brian Lara 2007: Pressure Play. It boasts straightforward controls and an arcade-like atmosphere. Most of the time spent playing the game is spent pushing a button at the appropriate moment to make a shot, take a catch, return a throw, or bowl a decent delivery. The phrase “Pressure Play” refers to a brand new gameplay option that was included in the PSP version of the game. Pressure Plays are essentially challenges that require the player to finish a specific task within a particular range of boundaries that have been established. Bowling with no extras and playing block shots are also examples of early pressure plays. In later Pressure Plays, players will engage in renowned run chases, wait for rain, and attempt to hit six sixes off an over. The game does not enable game sharing but does offer ad-hoc PSP multiplayer for a maximum of two players. In addition, players can only compete in one-day internationals; they cannot play tests, 20-the 20s, or county cricket in this game version.
